Washington Leaders to Unveil Broad Effort on Growth Issues
Sustainable Growth, Regional Leadership Needed for Regional Success
Washington D.C. – The 2030 Group will unveil a broad effort to focus on the challenges and opportunities for sustainable good growth in the Metropolitan Washington region at a kick-off event on Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 10:00am – 11:15am at the National Press Club inWashington D.C. The 45-minute speaking program will be followed by a media availability.
The 2030 Group is comprised of community-involved Washington D.C.–area business leaders, many of whom have multi-generational ties across the region and deep roots in the area. The 2030 Group will launch with the purpose ofinitiating research and analysis to better understand the growth trends affecting our region today and over the next twenty years. By sharing this insight with other business leaders, civic organizations and elected officials, the 2030 Group hopes to encourage the regional cooperation and leadership needed to tackle the difficult but necessary decisions regarding investments in the area’s transportation and other infrastructure systems, workforce, housing, education, and the environment.
